What to Expect on the Full-Day Safari Blue Tour

1. Morning Departure & Boat Ride

  • Start Time: The Full-Day Safari Blue tour typically departs around 9:00 AM from Fumba Village, located on the southwestern coast of Zanzibar.
  • Traditional Dhow Boat: You’ll board a traditional Zanzibari dhow (a wooden sailing boat), equipped with comfortable seating and safety features. The boat ride along the coastline offers stunning views of the turquoise ocean and the lush, green islands scattered around Zanzibar’s shores.

2. Snorkeling at Mnemba Atoll

  • First Stop: Mnemba Atoll: After cruising for about 30 minutes, you’ll arrive at Mnemba Atoll, a protected marine reserve renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and rich marine life.
  • Guided Snorkeling: You’ll have the opportunity to snorkel in the warm, clear waters of the atoll with an experienced guide. Swim alongside colorful fish, tropical coral gardens, and marine creatures such as dolphins, turtles, mantas, and occasionally reef sharks (non-threatening).
